Unit Mountings for Air to Water Outdoor Units are almost as important as the Heat Pump itself. Units must be mounted above ground level to allow for snow, debris and improved air circulation, in addition condensate must be dealt with so as not to cause a nuisance, and to prevent a slip hazard in winter

All manufacturers recommend that units should be installed with these accessories and it is a requirement of MCS.
